Junior Vest, what it means:
A vest is NOT required to be a part of the troop, but it is recommended as it gives the girls a sense of pride and accomplishment. All items are optional. A lot of these items are earned and will be paid for by the troop as the girls earn them. To start off, for the bridging ceremony or whenever can be afforded, parents can buy: 1, 2 ,3, 11 (if your daughter was a brownie), 15-17 ( a star for every year they have been a Scout and a colored background for the level it represents: blue for daisy, green for brownie and yellow for junior. So if your daughter has been in our troop since it started in 2008, they may have 4 membership stars with the following backgrounds: one blue, two green, and one yellow), 18 (the troop crest is going to a white rose which represents faith, loyalty and the quest for truth, which the girls chose- this symbol will stay with troop 295 for as long as we exist. If any other patches are earned, parents will be instructed if they or the troop will purchase them and/or where they go.” Click here for a larger picture. And remember, all fun patches go on the back of the vest.
